Perfect Stovetop Popcorn: White or Yellow Kernels
Share
Make crisp, evenly popped stovetop popcorn with Great River Milling Organic White Popcorn Kernels or Organic Yellow Popcorn Kernels. White kernels pop tender and delicate; yellow kernels deliver a larger, classic movie-night crunch.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Great River Milling popcorn kernels
- 2 tablespoons high-heat oil, such as avocado or refined coconut oil
- Fine salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil, optional
Directions
- Heat the oil with three kernels in a heavy 4-quart pot over medium-high heat. Cover the pot.
- When the test kernels pop, remove the pot from heat, add the remaining kernels, cover, and shake to coat.
- Return the pot to medium heat. Shake gently every few seconds while keeping the lid slightly vented so steam can escape.
- When popping slows to two or three seconds between pops, remove from heat. Season immediately with salt and optional melted butter.
Choose your popcorn
