Dinner Rolls

Ingredients

Recipe can be found on the back of a 25lb bag of the Great River Organic Milling Lily White Flour.

  • 3 ½ cups Great River Organic Milling Lily White Flour

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 1 tbsp dry yeast

  • 2 tbsp organic sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup organic salted butter, softened

Prepare the Yeast Mixture

  1. Add 1 cup of warm water and 1 tablespoon of dry yeast to a large mixing bowl.

  2. Lightly stir the mixture, then let the mixture rest for 10–15 minutes.

Directions

  1. Add sugar, salt, and eggs to a mixing bowl.

  2. Blend the mixture on low speed with a paddle or hook attachment for approximately 30 seconds. Add the butter and continue to mix.

  3. While blending on low speed with the paddle or hook attachment, slowly add the flour until a sticky dough forms.

  4. Turn the dough out of the mixing bowl onto a lightly floured table. Knead the dough to a smoother, slightly elastic consistency.

  5. Shape the dough into a round ball and place it into a large, lightly greased mixing bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp towel and place the bowl in a warm oven for 25–30 minutes.

  6. Remove the bowl from the oven and turn the dough onto a lightly floured table. Gently knead the dough 40 times.

  7. Place the dough back into the lightly greased bowl. Cover the bowl with the damp towel and let it rise for an additional 15 minutes.

  8. Remove the bowl from the warm oven. Turn the dough onto a table and divide it into 12 equal-sized pieces.

  9. Round the dough pieces and place them onto a flat baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  10. Cover the dough pieces with a moist towel and allow them to rise for 20–30 minutes. While the dough is rising, heat the oven to 400°F.

  11. Remove the towel and bake the dough pieces for approximately 19–23 minutes, or until golden brown.

  12. Remove the pan from the oven and allow the rolls to cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.
